You can find lots (and I mean lots) of at home IPL hair removal kits which personally I wasn’t drawn to. In terms of lasers and intense skincare treatments I am among those those who prefers to get a specialist to work their magic on me, instead of attempting to become one by obtaining a kit from my local pharmacy. I went to a clinic in my hometown which had recently opened for some treatments.
I went to about 2 sessions, but didn’t see any results – In Any Way. So, it absolutely was fair to say I wasn’t likely to waste any more money. Strike one. FYI – I understand individuals who have had treatments of IPL done (mainly all Asian/Indian kinds of skin) and that i have been told it requires plenty of sessions to find out results. I are also told by my current laser technician (and head trainer & educator of Polaris Hair Laser Removal) that IPL does not work with Indian skin and contains temporary benefits. It basically isn’t the best laser for very long term hair-free fuss.
The next time round, I decided to go for a YAG laser but to my luck, my technician had blagged her way into making me think she was doing us a favour. If in reality, her what are known as YAG laser was much more of 永久脫毛 then other things. I can tell you that it made my hair just a little fainter, but nothing drastic – and i also had at the very least 6 sessions. Yet again, I wasted not only my time in travel but a lot of money! Strike two.
For the past 5 months approximately I actually have been seeing a lovely laser technician, who lucky to me, is based in the same county as me! I needed told her all the problems I have had previously with laser hair removal and she gave me her honest and professional advice. She explained to me that IPL isn’t quite effective (especially on Asian skin) for hair removal. It works whilst you are getting it done but provide per year or so and you may see your the growth of hair coming back again. The penetration from the laser isn’t as deep and doesn’t focus on the hair follicle towards the extent as a YAG laser does.
I then explained the so-called YAG laser treatment I had been getting before arriving at her. Which is when she did just a little digging (in her own spare time) and informed me that I had been missold my laser treatment. The laser which I had been getting done was more similar to IPL when compared to a proper YAG laser. It absolutely was much more of a diode – basically which means that I wasn’t going to get the hemyhh results has I would personally have using a proper or should I say real YAG laser!
She then told me information on her laser. The laser she uses is definitely the Long Pulsed Nd: YAG Laser by Polaris Medical. She is an expert educator/trainer for this particular laser and has been in the business for two decades – she basically knows her shiz.
This laser can be used hair elimination of hair on all skin types, light to dark. One of the primary features of this laser is the fact that its melanin absorption is quite low. Melanin is exactly what gives your skin it’s colour. The greater melanin you might have, the darker the skin and the other way round. As a result of it’s low absorption of it, there exists very little risk of the epidermis to have damaged by hyper/hypo pigmentation. Because of this the long pulsed Nd:Yag lasers is idea for for hair removal on medium to dark skin!
I need to go with clean, lotion/potion free, make-up free, perfume/deoderant free and hair free. Yep, which means you need to shave in advance (everywhere you want to target!). This is therefore the laser can get to the folicle without the hair strands getting in the way.
I have learnt the hard way by accidentally having some perfume on my neck and also the laser burning my skin – luckily it wasn’t that bad (my Elizabeth Adren Eight Hour Cream sorted me out!). However, this is common and may happen.
During Laser Treatment
Through the laser session, the part/s of your body are sectioned off (as you have seen in the picture above). The Long Puled Nd: YAG laser is used having an air-conditioning type cooling tube which is hovered within the area of the skin because it is getting lasered – this is so that you don’t experience the heat. The sensation of obtaining this done is like someone poking you having a needle. According to your pain threshold or the region you may not feel it in any way.
